TRAINING FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

Our organisation specialises in the delivery of training for people with disabilities.  Our success in this area is attributable not only to our highly experienced and enthusiastic staff, but to the many wonderful clients that have accessed our services during our 12 years of operation – many of whom have continued successfully to mainstream training programs or to employment.

Our achievement was formally recognised when we were awarded the ACT Chief Ministers Inaugural Award for Inclusion in 2004.

Specialist programs for people with disabilities include:

• Work Access Support Program
• Moving Ahead
• The Office Circuit – an assessment program for people with learning difficulties
• Statements of Attainment from Certificates I and  II in Information Technology for people with a hearing or vision impairment
• Mapping for Employment and Change – a skills development program combining work skills and activities to promote self esteem.  The program is ideal for people with a range of disabilities – including those with mental health issues.

We also provide advice and training for employers and trainers who wish to develop skills to enable them to work more effectively with people with disabilities – Disability and the Adult Learner. A resource kit is also available.  NB This training program aligns with competencies from Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
