This HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance Acute Care qualification is delivered in Parramatta. It reflects the role of a variety of workers who use a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge to provide assistance to health professional staff for the care of clients. Health services assistance involves the worker in direct client contact under supervision.

Licensing/Regulatory Information
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this Certificate III in Health Services Assistance Acute Care qualification at the time of publication. However, all students will be required to have a working with vulnerable people and police check before commencing work placement.

Work Placement

All students must complete a minimum of 80 hours of work experience in a regulated aged care facility to be deemed competent for this Certificate III in Health Services Assistance Acute Care qualification.

How long will it take?

Duration is dependent on training delivery mode, individual experience and skills. Students are required to complete a volume of learning of 1200 hours comprising of guided learning, individual study assessments and work placement. Generally the course will take anywhere between 6 months and a year to complete.

Opportunities for Further Study

There is no direct pathway for further study for this Certificate III in Health Services Assistance Acute Care qualification, however, successful completion of this program will allow participant to articulate into a number of qualifications including:
• Other Certificate IV level programs from HLT Training Package
• Diploma level programs from the HLT Training Package

Assessment

The Certificate III in Health Services Assistance Acute Care course will be presented in competency-based mode and the student’s competency will be assessed at all levels according to competencies and performance criteria. The training package for each competency specifies the conditions and method of assessment. Assessment methods range from completing set tasks and activities, class attendance and participation and completion of assignments / projects.
